From the Contest Queen
There are seven traits and actions I believe
winners possess and do. They are:
- Think positively.
- Expect to win.
- Feel like a winner.
- Have good chi flowing inside and out.
- Share with others.
- Don’t cheat.
- Enter, Enter, Enter…
That is how the Attracting Luck chapter in my book begins. In this issue I want to talk about point #4 and specifically how you can have good chi flowing within you. The past two weeks have been very emotional for my family because we have had my grandmother break her hip and have a heart attack, my grandfather with Alzheimer’s was placed in a nursing home and my mother-in-law had a heart attack. I know I am not alone. I read postings all the time on the various Internet groups and I know many of you have also had many emotional and health challenges in your family life. It’s one reason many of us contest. It’s a great distraction and winning is such a happy feeling! Being physically, emotionally and spiritually balanced is important because it can not only help you win; it affects all aspects of your life. I do many things to balance my inner chi: eat organic foods, drink lots of filtered water, take vitamins, do yoga, get energy balancing massages, and read personal improvement books. I recommend these three books by Lise Bourbeau: Listen To Your Body, Heal Your Wounds and Find Your True Self and Your Body’s Telling You Love Yourself. Doing all these things has helped me, especially emotionally, through these difficult days and, to my amazement, my wins still kept coming in. The wins have been real bright spots in an otherwise dark time and give me something to look forward to. Balance your inner self and see what happens!
There has been an interesting discussion going on in many online groups regarding the use of RoboForm and RoboForm Companion. These discussions have been cropping up due to new clauses found in some rules regarding their use. I found a good example of this in a sweepstake put on by Prevention Magazine (The South Beach Diet Spa Getaway Sweepstakes. Open to the US and Canada, No QC–ends March 31st 2007). The rules specifically state:
“Entries must be manually key-stroked; any attempt by an entrant to enter multiple times through the use of multiple e-mail addresses or the use of any robotic or automated devices to submit entries will result in disqualification of such entries.”
Many have surmised that these companies are placing hidden fields on the entry page that would be filled by a program such as RoboForm but not filled if you enter the page manually. We have done two things to investigate this potential problem. 1) We have spoken with RoboForm and they have told us directly their software does not support hidden fields and 2) my webmaster pulled apart the code on this particular entry page and could not find any hidden fields. There is no mechanism in place for them to detect an auto-filling or auto-entry software use. I will be entering using RoboForm and RoboForm Companion. It will be really remarkable if I win!!
We have 15 spaces left for our first Toronto Area contest club meeting on September 17th. If you would like to attend, please email me ASAP as spaces are going quickly. Also, others are beginning to form their own groups across Canada. Wendy is starting a club in the Grande Prairie AB region. If you are interested in joining the club, please contact her directly.
Tips and Tricks
A girlfriend of mine recently missed out on winning free movie passes because she didn’t RSVP quickly enough to the email she received. This issue’s tip is to check your email and voicemail twice every day. I check mine just after 9:00am and again just after 5:00pm. I chose those times because those are standard business hours and you will generally be notified within those hours of a win.
If you are planning a vacation also plan to win. While you are away, check your voicemail once per day (Canada Direct and USADirect make this easy), have a friend pick-up your mail every day and keep their eye out for any courier packages. Here is a great blog article on how to check your email from abroad.

You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter
The Canadian Edition of You Can't Win If You Don't Enter should now be in your local book store. If not, you can take in a copy of my sell sheet and ask them to order your copy.
Due to the family crisis we had over the past two weeks it has thrown my publishing schedule for the American Edition off a wee bit. I am now targeting to have it published by Winter 2006. Please contact me directly if you have any tips, tricks or stories that you think would make a good addition to the American edition.
Keep your eye on this section for future updates on the book’s progress.
