How did I never do a book review on the very first sweepstakes book I every read?
When I started entering contests on a daily basis, it didn’t take me long to figure out I was making all types of mistakes. I then applied my extensive marketing background to my hobby and my Online Entering System was created.

Fast forward three years, I decided instead of going back to work from maternity leave I would write a book. It was during the research of You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter I reached out to Lynn Banks Goutbeck. I had many wonderful conversations with Lynn. Sadly, she passed away halfway through the writing process and never saw a published edition. As I felt I lost a soul sister I added a memorandum to the book.
Thankfully, her writing partner Melanie Rockett was just as helpful during my writing process. She also sent me one of the last published editions of Winning Ways for my research. I may be the Contest Queen, but I take off my crown to these two ladies. They were royalty in my eyes.
With the shift to online sweepstakes, and now social media sweepstakes, winning has taken a whole new set of skills: digital, mobile and creative. However, the basics remain the same.
- Knowing where to look for legitimate sweepstakes.
- Always read the rules!
- Staying organized.
- Increasing your odds of winning.
Sadly Winning Ways is no longer in print, so I cannot link to it on Amazon. However, you can get Melanie’s new book via Kindle.
