Were You a PowerSweepstaker?

Ron & Carolyn

I had the pleasure of ‘meeting’ Ron Miller, owner of PowerSweepstaking, in 2006 when I began writing the American Edition of You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter. For years we would trade emails and occasionally chat on the phone.

In 2011 Ron was featured in High Stakes Sweepers. I recommended him for the role as I loved his positivity. It wasn’t until 2013 when I went on my ‘Secrets of Winning’ tour did we finally meet in person.

I stayed with Ron and his family on my Dayton OH leg of my journey. We ended up in the local paper and on the local morning show. We had so much fun running my workshop that evening too.

If you were a PowerSweepstaker you noticed his emails dwindling and finally stopping. Recently, Ron pulled his entire site offline.

Last month I discovered why. Ron has lymphoma. His undergoing treatment. Test to test. Treatment to treatment. Hospital to hospital.

He is in a quite a lot of pain as he goes through the long process of killing the cancer and then healing. To quote Ron, “Right now it’s CNN or sleep.”

Ron is down, but not out. This isn’t the end of PowerSweepstaking. When Ron is healthy, he plans to relaunch a brand new site. No only will the design be brand new, it will be FREE! He has decided to move away from the subscription model.

Stay tuned for ‘Power’ updates on this blog and my social channels for good news about Ron and the grand relaunch.

In the meantime, if you are searching for a new sweepstakes resource, check out my Finding Sweepstakes page. I have links to dozens of blogs, aggregates and newsletters that post legitimate giveaways.

Sadly, there is no way to get in touch with Ron to send your thoughts, support and prayers as he isn’t well enough to check email or be online. Feel free to leave comments below and I will let him know the next time we chat.

Prayers for Ron, his family and friends. Any form of cancer is horrendous and the ways of killing it def take you down for a while. He always seemed to have a positive attitude and that is the KEY to the fight!

Ron, I understand about cancer (had it myself). You WILL get better – it just takes awhile, and it seems like your entire life is at a standstill until then. But you will get better – and we’re all praying and cheering for you!

Glad to hear an update…..please send my prayers to Ron. I was a powersweepstaker for a few years. I knew he was ill but did not know how to reach him after messaging him a few times. I was so worried. Thanks for updating us. Again, please let him know I am thinking of him. I want him to get well so quickly. I miss him!

So sorry about Ron’s illness. It is very hard, I know, as I lost my Bros. in 2010 with Lymphoma. Cancer is a horrible illness, and takes its toll on the person and the whole circle of family and friends. Please let Ron know, that I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. We will look forward to his new blog, newsletter etc.

I am saddened to hear this, I had wondered. I will keep Ron and his family in my thoughts and prayers. I am excited for the future and the new launching when Ron is well again. Thank you for the update, and if it is encouraging at all, my mom is living with lymphoma for a few years now and she is up, and walking miles every day for her health.
