It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post.  I can barely see the keys as the tears stream down my face.  Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 at the age of 92, Dortha Schaefer passed away.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dortha and the The Affadaisies several times.

Due to our financial issues the past several years, I didn’t have the funds to return after my last visit in 2010.  I intuitively knew it would be the last time I would see her.  I am so glad I sent her a Christmas card with pictures from some of our visits.

Dortha will be missed.

It is sad, the passing of the last great generation. Those who made do and did it with smiling, fortitude, ingenuity, and determined perseverance. What a blessing to have had the opportunity to know her.
