Most people don’t know that I lived for a year in Australia when I was in my early 20s. I lived in Sydney, New South Wales; six months with my aunt, uncle and cousins and six months in my own two room flat. I ate Barramundi on a regular basis. I never had it before I lived down under. It’s a wonderful “meaty” fish. At the time, Jas was only two and I will always remember him asking his mom for more “chicken” every time it was served. I was never able to find it here until now.
To further combine my love of Australia and my passion for winning, Australis Barramundi is holding a contest!
Australis Barramundi wants to inspire and excite you and how the little things you can do to make a big impact in the world. To enter, create a video and share how you make an impact. Videos don’t have to be fancy, and it can be anything from doing a hand stand to telling zany jokes!
Currently they only have a few entries and the promotion ends Saturday August 24th, so your odds of winning are good (if you can get the most votes in 9 days).
SHORT RULES: Open to residents of the Unites States. One entry per person. Ends August 24th 2013 11:59pm ET. The video with the most votes wins. FULL RULES
TIP: If you find a company interesting, read the About section on their Facebook page. This is what I discovered about Australis Barramundi:
At Australis, we’re not just selling fish – we’re ushering in a new era of responsible aquaculture. Our Barramundi has been called a ‘Lean, Green Superfood’, ‘A Hot Culinary Trend’ and a ‘Super Sustainable Seafood’ for lots of good reasons:
- Our sustainable practices don’t harm the environment or deplete our oceans.
- We farm naturally and never use hormones, antibiotics or harmful additives.
- Our Barra are loaded with Omega-3s — with levels comparable to wild Coho salmon!
- They have an ideal omega-3 to 6 ratio.
- Every bite is guaranteed free of mercury and other bad stuff.
We’re making Barramundi ‘The Next Big Fish’ by turning people on to its great flavor, incredible purity and impressive health benefits. Sweet, mild and succulent, this ‘non-fishy’ fish works beautifully with almost any recipe and is a great (and sustainable) alternative to traditional seafood options like salmon, cod, and tilapia.
