Top 5 Sweepstakes Entry Questions: #3

Question #3: Will my identity get stolen?

No.  You are not putting any information on an entry form that would give would give thieves access to your banking or credit card information.  Most people have more information available on their Facebook accounts!  In 2005 Craig Borysowich wrote a good blog post: Thoughts on Identity Theft and his words still ring true today.  I have been entering online on a daily basis for over nine years and have never had a problem.  So feel safe, enter away and marval at all the prizes you win!

This is why one avoids the fraudulent contests where they send you an email from Nigeria or the UK saying that you’ve won billions and asking you to send them all kinds of personal information! When you see one for the first time, you dare to hope you’ve won a lot, but then you realize that you’ve never entered this contest (sometimes they tell you that it was just a number attached to your email box randomly), so BEWARE!
