My First Blog Contest

At first glance the headline may not seem to be true. I ran a contest last week and Kay won tickets to see $5 a Day from the TIFF. I feel the headline is true because this is, what I believe, to be what a real blog contest is; post a prize, ask for comments, draw a winner. I am keeping my first one very simple. Simple is good.

Who can enter? Anyone.

How does one enter? By submitting a comment to this blog post. No comment will be judged, so essays are not required. Have fun as that is what this hobby is all about! One entry per person please.

When does it end? The contest closes at 11:59pm Eastern Time on Friday September 19th.

The prize? An autographed copy of my book, You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter. The winner will have their choice of either the American or Canadian edition.

I will choose the winner the same way I do for all my prize draws. I will use random number generating software to select an entrant.

Hello. I have been a contest enthusiest since I was 12 years old and won my first prize,a coveted ‘ LP’.That’s a recording for all you younger contesters out there. I am so very sorry to see snail mails go by the wayside ,since they are my first love.Internet is harder to win because everyone does it,so much easier to enter contests from home. My best win so far has been my shiny red new beetle.I do love to win those trips, though.I was born with a passport in my hand.I would like to know everyone elses BIG WIN!

  2. SweepstakesLovers September 12, 2008 at 9:22 am

    Hey !

This is pretty cool ! Wish I could win this book !
I would read it than I think I would also do a sweepstakes on my site and give this book as the prize.

This way, I could share knowledge about sweepstakes.
What do you think ? πŸ˜€

    Good luck to me !

  3. Thomas Farragher September 12, 2008 at 9:45 am

gotta go put my name in, if I wanna win.

  15. William Rentz September 12, 2008 at 10:52 am

Sweeping on-line for almost 1 year now and I am addicted! Haven’t won any big prizes….yet. Have won a few hundred dollars worth of merchandise(food, hats, gift cards).

and keeps your mine working, when you get older.

  18. Darrell Seever September 12, 2008 at 11:01 am

Sweepstakes are great fun! I have not read the book but sounds like a great read. Darrell

  19. Lois Porter September 12, 2008 at 11:18 am

I love to sweepstake however I find it a little difficult because I move every six months as I am a snowbird but I try to read the rules estimate where I will be for the drawings. What I don’t know will not hurt me, so I keep trying.

  20. Eric Halloran, Sr. September 12, 2008 at 11:19 am

    I want to win.

  21. Patty Boutin September 12, 2008 at 11:24 am

Thanks for having this contest. I really appreciate it.

  22. Mark September 12, 2008 at 11:25 am

People ask me how I win so many sweepstakes. I tell them that I enter so many sweepstakes. Ha Ha! If they tell me, “I never win anything.”, I ask them how many have they entered? Usually, it’s, “Oh, I entered a sweeps back in 1982, I think.” Well, duh, you can’t win if you don’t enter. The title of the book says it all.

  23. Patty Wallace September 12, 2008 at 11:27 am

I also just finished reading your book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Winning one would be great as I can gift it another sweeper.

I love all the tips you had in the book.

This is very nice of you! Thanks for the chance!

  24. Donna Wallman September 12, 2008 at 11:40 am

Entering sweepstakes is fun and becoming an addiction.

  25. Jerry Huber September 12, 2008 at 11:42 am

Entering is the easy part. You still have to have your name pulled out of the hat. To win a prize is a numbers game. to win a big prize is LUCK.

  26. Carol Harrity September 12, 2008 at 11:42 am

I have been sweeping for several years-it’s become an addiction for me. Anyway, congrats on your first give away. Sounds like just what I need.

  27. Frances September 12, 2008 at 11:47 am

Sweeping is a fun hobby. What a rush when you eventually win no matter how small the prize.

  28. Bruce Cannady September 12, 2008 at 12:00 pm

Harder to win anywhere with more amd more sweepers appearing

  29. Mary Bird September 12, 2008 at 12:07 pm

WOW ! I think it is so cool that not only is sweeping a great hobby, but you have taken it to a new level by writing a book to help others. Thanks.

  30. Nicole Morgan September 12, 2008 at 12:10 pm

I’d love to read your book and share it with my husband. When the kids go to sleep, I hit the computer. He doesn’t complain about it (much)and I tell him he’ll be grateful one day when we go on a free family vacation or his new pick-up is sitting in the driveway. Positive energy!

  31. Carol September 12, 2008 at 12:38 pm

I love to enter contest so that I can win things for my family. I enjoy checking the mail to see what surprises the were delivered inside.

  32. Carol McLaughlin September 12, 2008 at 12:42 pm

What can I say about sweeping? It has now become my life’s work!! I throughly enjoyed helping Carolyn Americanize and talk her into producing it after reading the Canadian version. I, too, will share the wealth of knowlege of the book with other sweepers in seminars and raffling them off!!
Kudos to Carolyn for her devotion to our hobby and always looking forward to hooking up with her and Craig!!

  33. Barb Carlucci September 12, 2008 at 12:42 pm

This is the most profitable hobby I have. I have more fun — especially winning stuff and then sharing my wealth with others. It’s win/ win…. and I can’t get enough of it. I love to read others good fortunes too.

  34. Stacey Shehorn September 12, 2008 at 12:44 pm

This is a practical prize. I would love to win this and read all the info I can get.

  35. Jerry Seymour September 12, 2008 at 12:49 pm

  36. sharon September 12, 2008 at 1:03 pm

    isn’t life fun

  37. Juanita Vonk September 12, 2008 at 1:05 pm

I enjoy entering sweepstakes as a hobby as it is fun to dream of “what if?” It’s fun to imagine driving the beautiful car, living in the georgous house, visiting an exotic location, etc. I’ll keep entering and picturing myself winning and maybe someday soon, my “big win” will come along. In the meantime, winning small prizes keeps me encouraged.

  38. John Vonk September 12, 2008 at 1:11 pm

My wife enters sweepsakes for me as I don’t type well. If I win the book, she’ll be really excited about reading it as she really enjoys entering sweeps (for both of us).

  39. Jeannie47 September 12, 2008 at 1:14 pm

I’d like to say “Congrats” on your book. If I don’t win it, is it available on the market? After retirement, sweeping has become a perfect hobby. Oh and when those prizes start showing up, it makes it all worthwhile. Still waiting to be notified of my car/truck/cash win (smiles). Looking forward to reading your book.

  40. Teresa Young September 12, 2008 at 1:15 pm

What a great prize, Carolyn. As sweepers we all know there are going to be dry times – reading your book is just what one should do to get back in the WINNING frame of mind!

  41. vet tech September 12, 2008 at 1:23 pm

I would love a copy of your book, and have been looking forward to reading it ever since I read Sandra Grauschopf’s review. I love sweeping, it gives me hope every day that something unexpected and wonderful may happen… in a lot of ways that is better than the prizes. Not that I mind the prizes…

  42. Lindi Go September 12, 2008 at 1:25 pm

This is a great prize. Thanks!

  43. Debbie September 12, 2008 at 1:46 pm

  51. Virginia Cauthen September 12, 2008 at 2:15 pm

  52. Tony Spataro September 12, 2008 at 2:35 pm

I started to enter contests and sweepstakes 3 months ago. I can’t be as active I was so I have taken up the sweepsatkes hobby. I haven’t won much so far (movie tickets, toothpaste, & a health bar) but I keep trying. I’m sure that your book would be a great help to me or any other person who enters sweepstakes.

  53. Linda Maslyn September 12, 2008 at 2:46 pm

I would love to read another person’s perspective. I’m in a slump right now as well. Thanks for the contest!

  54. Judi September 12, 2008 at 2:46 pm

I’ve always loved entering things! People have made fun of me because I am always confident I will win. I gave up on scratch-off tickets because it cost too much. Now I am just starting to build a house and appliances are NOT included in the budget! Okay, I’ll just see if I can win me some. I had found around 10 different sweeps I was entering daily and then my son said there must be a website. Well, lo and behold, I found Mr. Sweepy! I haven’t won any appliances yet, or much of anything else, but I’m sure I will. And then I want to take my granddaughter on a nice trip and I could certainly use a new car, money is always wonderful . . . .

  55. Paula Weir September 12, 2008 at 2:50 pm

I can’t wait to read your book. Heard it’s a great book.

  56. Mary Ann Linder September 12, 2008 at 2:56 pm

I would love to win your book because due to the lack of winning, my motivation has slipped away.

  64. Nancy K. Applegte September 12, 2008 at 3:56 pm

I don’t usually enter anything that requires me to add to a blog, but I’m making an exception. I’d love the book.

  65. Shirley E September 12, 2008 at 3:58 pm

I could really, really use your book. Hit a dry spell…good luck everyone!

I have been sweeping for close to 30 yrs. and love Mr. Sweepy’s site!!! I would love to win your book! When we did snailmail – I won an 18 day trip to the Orient(1982). I haven’t won anything very big since, But I keep hoping and entering. If nothing else, it keeps my fingers nimble and my mind more alert.
    Thank you for this opportunity!!!

  77. Denise Lima September 12, 2008 at 5:02 pm

I have been entering contests for about a year and a half now and its so exciting. I have one a few and its great, i would really love to win a copy of your book and read some of your techniques to winning. Denise

  78. immax4bog September 12, 2008 at 5:04 pm

If I win this book, it will probably be the best thing I would ever win. I need all the help I can get. I’ve been entering sweeps online for about 4 or 5 years now. I won a couple music downloads, but I don’t download music. I won some clipart that I found out fast why they had to GIVE it away. I won a $10 Lowe’s card that they never sent me. I won a book for my cats. 20 bags of chips from a restaurant we never go to. I recently won a $25 gift card and $100 cash, but I haven’t seen them yet. I hope I get them. It can get VERY discouraging at times, to put forth so much time and effort for so little return, but I just keep trying. I enter dozens of sweeps every day and keep hoping that I’ll win that one special big one. Congrats to everyone’s wins.

  79. Greg September 12, 2008 at 5:11 pm

Thank you for the opportunity. Good Luck all!

  80. Bonnie Day September 12, 2008 at 5:12 pm

I would love to win this book I have been entering sweepstakes on line, by mail, texting and phone in for about 10 years It used to be very good. I was able to win enough for all my kids and grand kids xmas and birthday presents but it seems to have dried up and I don’t know why It seems to be a long time between wins and no more biggies anymore Maybe this book would help

    Thanks for a great giveaway

    Bonnie in FL

  81. Bonnie Brooks September 12, 2008 at 5:14 pm

I love sweeping. I’ve been doing it regularly for 5 years and had done it on and off for a few years before that. I’ve won a lot of small things and a few big things and enjoy it so much. Love your web site and your books.

  82. Deb H September 12, 2008 at 5:28 pm

So this is what a blog sweepstakes is! I have been doing snail mails for years but this is my first blog entry. I sure miss the snail mails but I guess it’s time to jump into the future of sweepstaking and give it a try. Loved seeing you at the Texas convention and I look forward to seeing you at the Hershey mini convention.

  83. ellen cunningham September 12, 2008 at 5:37 pm

  84. hoop dee doo September 12, 2008 at 5:41 pm

I’ve been sweeping seriously for just under 2 years and have been fortunate enough to a number of small prizes and a handful of grand prizes. I don’t know too many folks personally that do this for a hobby, so I would love to win your book to get another’s perspective on creating a winning strategy.

  85. Jason Dockins September 12, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Would love to read this book

  86. Marla T September 12, 2008 at 6:12 pm

  87. Wanda September 12, 2008 at 6:13 pm

I love to sweep. Have been doing it since I was a young adult by snail mail. Now with the internet, I enter at least 50 a day and have won lots of little prizes. A great hobby. Would love to have your book.

  88. dennis george September 12, 2008 at 6:21 pm

    I want to win.

  89. Lynda Perry September 12, 2008 at 6:36 pm

I loved listening to you on the radio when you were talking to Mr. Creepy, I mean Sweepy ha ha. I probably wont win your book because of that comment but I DID enjoy listening to what YOU had to say about sweeps. I learned quite a bit from you and would love to know more.

  90. VickieA September 12, 2008 at 6:46 pm

I bought a copy of this book, but need another because mine is loaned out constantly!

  91. patrick moran September 12, 2008 at 6:52 pm

i can’t wait to get the book

  92. Richard Jiacik September 12, 2008 at 7:16 pm

I’d like to win your sweeps and get to read your book. I don’t see how one could get better in entering sweeps tho. everyone does the same thing. I’d still would like to know if being old limits one’s chances? Thanks.

  93. June Stahl September 12, 2008 at 7:16 pm

I am a very new sweeper and have won only a few small prizes. I would love the book to give me some insight to statagies to use to win the “BIG ONE”!

  94. Carol September 12, 2008 at 7:18 pm

I love sweeping. My biggest win was from Cheer Tru Fit Detergent two years ago. I won A trip to NYC worth $10,000. After some negotiating with the sweep administer and Proctor and Gamble they kindly agreed to allow me to have the %$10,000 cash instead. I wasn’t playing for a prize I didn’t want, I was playing an instant win game for a $100 visa card and was automatically entered to win the trip.

  95. Robert Dahlen September 12, 2008 at 7:46 pm

    excellent book

  96. Saundra Bowers September 12, 2008 at 7:54 pm

This would be a terrific prize to win!! Very interested in seeing what you have in the American addition. I have been sweepstaking for a couple years now and have won some nice prizes. Nothing big yet, but still hoping the day comes comes for that. I enjoy entering in my spare time, can turn into quite an addiction!
    Good luck everyone!!

  97. Robert O. September 12, 2008 at 8:11 pm

Sweeping can be addictive but its much safer than other addictions.

  98. Zipporah Sandler September 12, 2008 at 8:17 pm

Thank you for offering “You Can’t Win if you Don’t Enter” for your sweepstakes. I’ve been sweeping for as long as I can remember (and that’s a LONG time) and I still get that same feeling as I did the first time I won something with each and every win the I get.

  99. Lynn September 12, 2008 at 8:38 pm

I have been winning since I was 8 years old…mostly in radio sweeps. I’m entering less because I don’t know how to win without drop boxes and radio call-ins. I need your book so I can begin winning again!

  100. sandra bellomy September 12, 2008 at 9:13 pm

I have been sweeping since March and love it. I got my daughter started and we just got back from a trip to NY that she won. I would love to win this book because anything to do with sweeping fascinates me.

  101. Jolene September 12, 2008 at 9:19 pm

I am swiftly becoming addicted to sweeping!

  102. Jen September 12, 2008 at 9:33 pm

  103. Allyn September 12, 2008 at 9:35 pm

This is a great blog. I’m glad I was referred to it. Keep up the nice work. Thank you!

  104. Sue Robinson September 12, 2008 at 9:38 pm

    Hi Carolyn,
I’ve been sweeping about 17 years and have some great wins under my belt, but always willing to ‘tweak’ my entering methods, and love to hear how others enter.

I met you at the Scottsdale convention and have one of your four leaf clover pendants…it sits in front of me on my desk as I enter. It’s a pretty little piece of jewelry and I feel ‘every little bit helps’. Thanks so much for offering this contest!

  105. Syretta Patterson September 12, 2008 at 9:45 pm

LOVE…Sweeping,it gives me something productive to do. The WINS just keep coming…

  106. Sue September 12, 2008 at 10:30 pm

I have been entering contests since I was laid off of my job a year ago. I have them categorized on my favorites list for easier entering. So far I have won 2 drink cups and samples of toothpaste. Sure would like to win something bigger, maybe you book could help!

  107. justin curry September 12, 2008 at 10:33 pm

  108. nsmohr September 12, 2008 at 10:36 pm

I’ve enjoyed entering sweepstakes online, but have only won three little tiny prizes – free loaf of bread, free jelly beans and a box of new cleaning products . Actually that was a pretty good prize. It would be nice to win some of the big prizes, but I enjoy just seeing most of the prizes. It’s soert of like window shopping.

  109. katie g September 12, 2008 at 10:40 pm

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  110. Karin September 12, 2008 at 10:54 pm

This sounds like a really great book; I’d love to read it. I have been entering sweepstakes for about 3.5 years now, and have won over $17,000 in prizes. I love the sense of possibility entering sweepstakes gives me.

  111. Karen September 12, 2008 at 11:00 pm

Last year I won 250,000 boxtops which is worth $25,000. It was a Boxtops for Kids contest and was sponsored by Walgeens, General Mills and Kimberly Clark. My daughter won a trip to Alaska in 2004 and took her dad and me. It was wonderful.
Just about every week I receive something in the mail from contests I have won. Anyone can do this. It just takes some time. Good Luck to everyone. Happy sweeping!!

  112. Ellen LaPaglia September 12, 2008 at 11:09 pm

    Hi Carolyn,
    COOL idea for a contest!!!
Have been contesting since the early 80’s, so am an oldie, but a goodie… ;O)))
Have seen a lot of changes in the contesting world over the years, especially the decline in snail mail contests.
Think this would be an interesting in-depth idea for a show, if you could find an expert on this subject ???
Hope to win the prize, my contesting buddy could use a nice surprise for Xmas….:O)

  115. Karen Weichel September 12, 2008 at 11:24 pm

good luck to all you sweepers!!

  187. Jan September 13, 2008 at 1:42 pm

My first win, way back in high school, was a stale cake, things have improved a great deal since then!

  188. Sharon September 13, 2008 at 1:46 pm

Would enjoy reading your Canadian Sweepstakes book. Have entered contests since I was a teen and have won many wonderful prizes along the way. It is a great hobby, now the internet is a fast and inexpensive alternate to mailing entries, think it is even better to be a contester using this new happy medium to enter.

  189. Linda F September 13, 2008 at 1:49 pm

I would love to read your book.

  190. Lori Belanger September 13, 2008 at 1:50 pm

I already have a copy of your book but would LOVE to get my hands on another as I have been sharing the idea of contesting with others & would like to give it away to receive some good karma in return! Thanks for offering this contest & happy winning!

  191. Taryn Parker September 13, 2008 at 1:54 pm

There was a cool documentary this year on DocZone on CBC about contesting, it was interesting to see all the different people that enter contests. I would definitely like to win this book.

  192. Maureen September 13, 2008 at 2:09 pm

I love to contest and nice to see so many others that enjoy it too!

my husband and i entered a couple of contests earlier this year and ended up winning a ‘family trip of a lifetime’ to ottawa for canada day…what a wonderful experience…needless to say we have been entering contests since… i have to say though, people look at me strangely when i tell them we enter contests and my response to them is the same as the title of your book “you can’t win if you don’t enter”

  195. Janet Baron September 13, 2008 at 2:32 pm

Contesting has been the Greatest Theraphy going. I plug in my music & go searching.
The greatest HIGH is a win no matter how big or small.
My best win was a Toby Keith contest I won for my Birthday last year. Talk about a high meeting & greeting that boy.I put away my winnings for xmas gifts so I have to keep tight liped.
I loved reading you’re book. A signed copy would be a blast. Thanks again

  196. Mary Kelly September 13, 2008 at 2:36 pm

My grandmother was a refunder and a sweeper. She won many cool prizes back in the day. I only began sweeping about 6 months ago, but I find that it makes me feel connected somehow to my Nana. She’s gone 25 years now but I feel her with me when I sweep.

  197. Ann Demill September 13, 2008 at 2:44 pm

My first prize was a hot air ballon ride – what fun. Since then I’ve been hooked and would love to win the book to get some new ideas.

  198. Hollie September 13, 2008 at 2:50 pm

Awesome. I started entering sweepstakes just last year and won about 1000 dollars worth of stuff. Its been a lot of little things but none the less I have enjoyed them. I’m waiting for the day I hit it big, but until then the nice small prizes keep my happy hehe and enjoying my hobby. Cool blog btw.

  201. Michelle September 13, 2008 at 3:03 pm

For about a year I have been entering contests. This seems like a very informative book!

  202. Ken B. September 13, 2008 at 3:24 pm

Everyday, I try to do something to enter more efficiently. I have several programs I use as “tools of the hobby” that make problem sweeps easier to enter. I’m always looking for more information and it’s fun to see how everyone goes about the task of entering sweeps daily, differently. I’m sure your book will be a great read.
Leaving for Orlando in a couple weeks for my second trip of the year. Nice, but sure wish I could win a cash or vehicle sweep.
I enjoyed listening to your interview with Mr Sweepy (the sweepster rocks!) and receiving your email updates.

  203. Rhonda Steele September 13, 2008 at 3:51 pm

  210. Eleanor Freeman September 13, 2008 at 5:16 pm

I’ve only been doing sweeps for a few months and I am totally addicted. However, I think I need some help so your book would be great – I love to read too.

  211. Cynthia Walker September 13, 2008 at 5:16 pm

I think we contesters are like a family of our own. Until you sign on and start winning you cant explain how cool it feels to win.

  212. cc September 13, 2008 at 5:17 pm

I’m new to this hobby, but love it. It has also helped me with my computer skills.

  213. KEETER1967 September 13, 2008 at 6:01 pm

    would love to read it

  224. Christina September 13, 2008 at 6:55 pm

I truly believe in the concept behind You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter. I myself enter numerous contests and, when asked to blog, often surprise myself at my own ability to assess items and comment on their intrinsic worth!

  225. Pat B September 13, 2008 at 6:56 pm

I love sweeping, I love books, I would love to win this!

  226. Gaye McGill September 13, 2008 at 7:01 pm

I know for sure you’re on the right path with the title of your book. What I need is some good advice beyond just entering. Thanks for the giveaway.

  227. Barry Kopulos September 13, 2008 at 7:02 pm

Carolyn I saw you in the special last Sun on CBC (Doc Zone) episode Winning for Living. Fascinating show and learned so much about contesting.

This is definitely one of the best blog giveaways out there. I love your book but have not bought a copy yet. Your book has really helped me learn how to be a true contestor. So far this year I have won ~$3000 worth of prizes. Which I think is not bad for just getting started. In addition, since my I started, my love of contests has come a far way. I am now hosting my own blog that features different blog giveaways around the Blogosphere as well as some information on other contests such as Lou Lou Beauty lottery and Quick and Simple daily giveaways. Just recently, I started contacted various stores to inquire about the possibility of hosting some giveaways and reviews for them on my blog. I currently have two going and they are going great. I also have several set up for the weeks to come. This is definitely the most exciting hobby I have ever had. Thank you so much for the inspiration. And… For all of you who love contesting, please feel free to visit my blog and enter my current giveaways (click on my name).

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  359. Vicky Boackle September 14, 2008 at 10:47 pm

Hello. I won my first prize when I was 16 (guessing how many pieces of candy were in a jar). I won a $50 U.S. Savings Bond (which I promptly lost). I didn’t realize it then but I love contests. Now, 25 years later, I’m saving a little time each day to look for great contests (and enter). Thanks for writing your book. I look forward to reading it and discovering new things about my hobby from you. In the last six months, I’ve won about 8 moderate prizes. Looking forward to a BIG win. Regards, Julie

  444. Jacqueline in Atlanta September 16, 2008 at 12:32 pm

Would love to read the book. I need all the help I can get lately.

I got hooked on sweeps and contests at a young age. I will never forget winning the “Endless Summer” kit when I was about 15. I still have that Beach Boys double album. I also won 4 half gallons of Braum’s ice cream, suntan oil (back when you practically basted yourself), and a swimsuit of choice from somewhere (Dillard’s, I think). That was a radio call-in. yee haw!

    Thanks for having the giveaway!

  445. janeh September 16, 2008 at 1:18 pm

I’d love to read your book,,,,,what could be better than to win an expert’s advice about winning?……..

  450. Tatiana September 16, 2008 at 6:36 pm

Thanks for developing your own contest giveaway. I saw the program on television about your knack for contesting and thought I would try it out, because I have been a bit down on luck recently. I needed a new cheap hobby to keep me going when everything else was tough. I started with trying to do it on my own, but have quickly become a fan of your site. The first contest I entered in May this year, (and was somewhat skeptical I must say), and I won a $1000 shopping spree. I have been entering ever since. I would really like to win a copy of your book to read.

  451. Roxanne September 16, 2008 at 7:46 pm

As a newbie this book would be a real help.

  452. DIANE ANDERSON September 16, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Pick me please. I have to bborrow some ones eles’s copy

  453. Donna C. September 16, 2008 at 9:14 pm

I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to entering contests. I have it down to a science. My best win so far has been a 32″ TV and one of those built in tv’s for the car (which was worth more than the 32″ by the way.)

  454. Patricia Adams September 16, 2008 at 9:33 pm

Can’t wait for your next show Carolyn ..sounds so very interesting! Have been a contester for almost 30 years and still love it! I got my sister into it and my kids can’t pass one up either. Just found out I am going to be a grandmother and I’m thinking the odds are good that he or she will be one too. Wonder what contests will be like in 20 years time? Look at the changes we have gone through in the last 20 years alone. Hope we are all around to find out. In the meantime do have some free time to read your book! : )

  470. Gretchen September 17, 2008 at 10:20 am

    book good

  494. Brenda Hudson September 18, 2008 at 12:01 am

My first win was $15.00 for a poem I wrote when I was
15 years old. From then on I was hooked. I used to do a lot of snail mail entries; but stamps have become so
expensive that I no longer do much mail in entries. Most
of my wins have been small; but I still get excited even when I win a coupon for a free item. I enter a lot of sweepstakes each day and at all hours of the day; but mainly it’s after 9 PM. I am still waiting for that big Grand Prize win; maybe soon. GLTA

So far, I’ve won a handful of small prizes. At first I doubted that sweeping would be effective but now I’m a believer. I spend about 3 hours each day entering. I would LOVE to be your winner!

I’m honored to be entering your first blog contest. I usually don’t enter blog contests because I can never come up with something creative to say. Today, the creative bug hit me so I’ve been entering every blog contest I can find (that features a prize I’d like to win, of course). Even though I’ve been sweeping for just over a year and have won thousands of dollars worth of prizes your book looks very interesting. Thanks for the contest!!

  551. flared0ne September 19, 2008 at 12:29 am

Your title, my approach to life. My tax prep guys love to see me come in; the first thing they typically ask is “so, how much ‘dja win THIS year??” — not that it’s that much, it’s more the idea its more than enough that I DO have to file taxes on it…

  552. Mollie G. September 19, 2008 at 12:37 am

Of course you’ve heard the old joke about the old lady saying “I’m gonna win the lottery one of these days, I put my faith in God”, and then, after a long life filled with nothing but bad luck, complaining to the sky “What happened??” — and a Voice echoes down from the Heavens saying “So buy a ticket already…”

    Here’s mine.

  553. Bonnie September 19, 2008 at 12:41 am

I’m entered, so I can win if I have the lucky number. I howled at the full moon, will this help?

  554. Barbara Campbell September 19, 2008 at 12:48 am

I have been entering sweepstakes for a long time, but my winning has really slowed down. Maybe this book can help me get up to date with my entering methods so I can get in the ‘winning’ groove.
